Kapunda Visitor Centre

South Australia

Situated in the main street of the town, the basement area of this heritage-listed building was developed to take the visitor on journey of discovery through the history of the space and the district. Information is presented subtly using audio-visuals, graphics, objects and artifacts and requires the visitor to make a connection with the presentations through investigation.

New strategies and installation techniques were developed to raise the awareness of the significance of the place, resulting in an increase in the level of visitation.

Innovative strategies that are unexpected and provocative are used, together with the more traditional and informative displays to create an engaging experience.
