ES undertook the exhibition design, detail documentation, fabrication and installation of the Climate exhibition space. The existing area was invigorated by the addition of new thematic elements, overarching concepts, spatial changes and graphical layouts. Our design included the reuse or repurpose of as much material as was possible in the updating of the exhibit space to promote good sustainable practice.
Using a combination of interpretive design and invigoration of the existing infrastructure, the design highlights the abstraction of ice and air, emphasising key elements to explain climate change. The dynamic ceiling lighting incorporates a chandelier which references ice melt and air temperature rise graph lines. Also included in the exhibit space is a specific designed digital interactive that draws on key themes presented.
