The ‘Earth Observation: Close to Home’ exhibition is an immersive experience at the Australian Space Discovery Centre, focussed on Earth Observation and how it is “closer to home” than we may realise. It showcases how earth observation impacts our everyday lives, from monitoring land for agriculture and urban expansion, to predicting the weather.

This multi-sensory exhibition uses art, data, and technology to inspire a deeper connection with the Earth.  Our team used large scale graphics, interactive lighting and tactile elements to create an immersive space where visitors can learn about the observation of earth in a fun and engaging way.

Printed graphics flow across the walls and floor, creating an immersive environment which takes visitors on a journey through from the “overview effect”, to gathering climate information, mapping world heritage sites and the electromagnetic spectrum.

The primary focal point of the exhibition is an interactive table which features a large LED lightbox interactive, tactile element and object display, exploring the electromagnetic spectrum and how satellites viewing Australia can reveal vital climate information, as well as geodes and how we gather information from the earth.
