ES were engaged by the Telethon Kids Institute through from concept design to fabrication and development. The Telethon Kids’ Discovery Centre is a science and medical research experience located in the Perth Children’s Hospital. The experience looks to educate children and parents about the globally significant research undertaken by the Telethon Kids Institute.

The centre focuses on the researchers, highlighting creative and analytical thinking and telling of the institutes research. The predominantly digital space includes custom software and hardware, taking identifiable scientific and laboratory items, such as pipettes and microscopes, and transforms them into engaging platforms for education and fun. This digital experience is accompanied and extended by an RFID platform, allowing visitors to customise their journey throughout the space. This customisable journey allows the option to specify areas of interest and be delivered relevant experiences at each of the exhibits. Visitors can also specify different accessibility modes (digital height adjust and high contrast), set appropriate language levels and experience unique identification at each of the exhibits. High scores and completed levels are also recorded to encourage and cater to return visitors.
